Favorite Bible Verse: Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5 (MSG)
Favorite Adoption Story: One of my favorite adoption stories, as I have a few, is about a couple who initially were foster parents. They fostered a sibling group of 3. The birth parents eventually rehabilitated, and the children would return to their birth parents after 18 months in foster care. The foster parents in faith took great care of the children and were torn to see the children leave their home as they had grown to love and cherish them. The birth parents were pregnant at the time the children returned to their home. The birth parents realized they could not take care of 4 children, and because they could see how well their children had been taken care of, they made the difficult decision to place their 4th child for adoption. They would choose the foster parents who had loved and taken care of their first 3 children, to adopt their 4th child.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services Management from University of Phoenix and currently completing a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and Counseling (2018) from Capella University.
Responsibilities: As a Pregnancy Counselor and Home Study Provider, my responsibilities are to counsel and educate expectant parents who are considering adoption. I assist birth parents throughout their adoption journey by helping them make a hospital plan, connecting them to community resources, facilitating match meetings between the birth parents and prospective adoptive parents. As a Pregnancy Counselor, I continually support and maintain relationships with pregnancy centers and hospitals. I also assist Georgia families by conducting home studies and post-placement visits.
