First of all, we would like to thank you for your courageous decision to consider adoption. We, like you, value unborn life, and we are so grateful that you have chosen to give your child the chance to live. We know that you love your child and that you want to provide him/her with a loving family to cherish and nurture him. Thank you for considering us for this great privilege.
We have desired to have children for several years now, but we have been unable to conceive. We tried several infertility treatments, but nothing has been effective. After reading several books, speaking with families that had adopted, and much prayer and discussion between the two of us, we came to the decision to forego any further infertility treatments and to pursue adoption instead. This decision has brought us much healing, peace, and hope for the future. Though this path to parenthood has been a difficult one, we are incredibly excited about the opportunity to grow our family through adoption.
We met through Katie’s brother in 2004, and, after three years of dating, we celebrated our commitment to one another in marriage in 2007. Macky flies helicopters as an officer in the US Army. His job led us to Hawaii soon after our marriage, and we spent six years living in that beautiful island paradise! Being in the military has not only provided us with the opportunity to travel and experience new things, but it also has provided us with a stable income, guaranteed healthcare, and a warm community of support. We are honored to serve our great nation. Katie is a family physician. She loves taking care of families and their medical needs! She is open to becoming a stay-at-home mom if necessary, though. For both of us, our families come first and our careers second.
We moved to Alabama in the spring of 2013. We are enjoying the South and being closer to family. We enjoy being outside: jogging, hiking, being on the lake, and playing at the beach. We also enjoy cooking together and hosting people in our home. Our church is very important to us, and we are very active in serving there in whatever ways we are needed (e.g. making meals, serving in the nursery, helping with Vacation Bible School). We are blessed with a very supportive network of friends and family, and they are cheering us on as we embark on this adoption journey!
We have a lot of experience interacting with children. Our nieces and nephews are very precious to us, and we have spent a lot of one-on-one time with them over the years. That includes changing diapers, kissing boo-boos, and feeding bottles! Many of our friends have children, too, and we have enjoyed being a part of their lives as well. In addition, Katie’s job has given her a lot of skills and knowledge about caring for children and parenting.
We realize you have a difficult decision ahead of you in the midst of a very challenging season in your life. We are grateful for your time in considering us. We hope that you would like to explore this relationship further, and we would be thrilled to have an opportunity to meeting you. We pray that the Lord would give you peace and clarity as you move forward!

Interest and Hobbies: We enjoy exploring new places together, hiking, and spending time outdoors. We also like to jog and we occasionally do road races together. We love to entertain in our home, and we often host parties or have couples over for dinner. Macky likes to play Ultimate Frisbee in his free time. Katie likes to read and play board games.
Home: We currently live in a quiet neighborhood in a small town where knowing your neighbors is the norm. Our home is one-level, three bedroom, two bath with a nice fenced-in backyard.
Pets: We have a black Lab, Cooper, who LOVES playing with our nieces and nephews!
Finances: Being in the military provides a stable, predictable income for us. We are both thrifty and live within our means.
Why are you interested in building a family though adoption: We have longed to have children for many years. We pursued getting pregnant for three years without success. The Lord had other plans for our family! Through much prayer, speaking with other friends who had adopted, and reading several books on adoption, the Lord showed us what a beautiful gift adoption is. We are thrilled that He has chosen to grow our family in this amazing way!
Openness to Birth parents: We are willing to communicate with birth parents via email, phone, or text. We plan to regularly send pictures and updates.
Childcare Plans: Katie will take maternity leave once the baby arrives. She hopes to work 2-3 days per week thereafter, but only if we have a close family member or friend from church to help with childcare. We do not plan to use daycare. If we cannot find a suitable sitter, then Katie will stay home full time.
Statement of Faith: We believe that we were born into sin, but that while we were still sinners, God sent his Son, Jesus, to die for us. His death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, thereby granting us access to a relationship with the Father. It is by His grace alone that we can call Him Abba, Father!
