Dear Birth Mother,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your courageous decision to consider adoption. We, like you, value unborn life, and we are so grateful that you have chosen to give your child the chance to live. We know that you love your child and that you want to provide him/her with a loving family to cherish and nurture him. Thank you for considering us for this great privilege.

We have desired to have children for several years now, but we were unable to conceive. We tried several infertility treatments, but nothing was effective. After reading several books, speaking with families that had adopted, and much prayer and discussion between the two of us, we came to the decision to pursue adoption instead. This decision has brought us much healing, peace, and hope for the future. We adopted our first child, William, in May of 2014. He has been such a blessing! Though this path to parenthood has been a challenging one, we are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to grow our family further through adoption.

We met through Katie’s brother in 2004, and, after three years of dating, we celebrated our commitment to one another in marriage in 2007. Macky flies helicopters as an officer in the US Army. His job led us to Hawaii soon after our marriage, and we spent six years living in that beautiful island paradise! Being in the military has not only provided us with the opportunity to travel and experience new things, but it also has provided us with a stable income, guaranteed healthcare, and a warm community of support. We are honored to serve our great nation. Katie is a family physician. She loves taking care of families and their medical needs! She is open to becoming a stay-at-home mom if necessary. Since William joined our family, she has been working three days per week. While Katie is working, a wonderful young lady from our church cares for William in our home.

We moved to Alabama in the spring of 2013. We are enjoying the South and being closer to family. We enjoy being outside: jogging, hiking, being on the lake, and playing at the beach. We also enjoy cooking together and hosting people in our home. Our church is very important to us, and we are very active in serving there in whatever ways we are needed (e.g. making meals, serving in the nursery, helping with Vacation Bible School). We are blessed with a very supportive network of friends and family, and they are cheering us on as we embark on another adoption journey!

We realize you have a difficult decision ahead of you in the midst of a very challenging season in your life. We are grateful for your time in considering us. We hope that you would like to explore this relationship further, and we would be thrilled to have an opportunity to meet you. We pray that the Lord would give you peace and clarity as you move forward!

With admiration,

Macky & Katie
