Hello,Lee and Kari

Thank you so much for reading our letter and learning about us. To begin, we find you very courageous and strong to make such a difficult decision. We are grateful that you have chosen adoption as an opportunity for your child. For the last nine years, our dream of being parents has been a challenge. Infertility has prevented us from having biological children. We have become stronger individuals, closer as a couple, and realize how precious children truly are. We are excited and honored for the opportunity to start our family through adoption.

Lee grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University. After college graduation, he moved to Colorado to pursue a job opportunity. Kari was born and raised in upstate New York until her family moved to Wyoming. She graduated from the University of Wyoming and taught there before moving to Colorado. We met in 2004 and dated for two years before getting engaged. Our wedding ceremony was in July of 2007. As a couple we enjoy living in Northern Colorado. Kari has taught at the same elementary school for the last 17 years and enjoys helping her students learn and grow. Lee has been with the same company as an engineer for the last 10 years and will complete his master’s degree this February.

We love spending time outdoors, and we enjoy the wonderful weather that Colorado has to offer. It gives us a chance to get out running, ride our bikes, and hike the amazing trails of the Rocky Mountains. In fact, we regularly run in races to support various charities and programs. We also have two dogs that we love to take on walks throughout the year and take swimming in the summer. Another important aspect of our lives is time spent with family. Our four year old niece, Paige, has been a big part of our lives. Kari had the amazing experience to help with the delivery at the hospital. Over the last four years, we have had the opportunity to help with her care and overnight stays when her mom travels for work. She has grown to be such a sweet and fun little girl.

Our home is located in a residential neighborhood that is close to several parks. We live in a ranch style house with a nice fenced back yard. Since Kari is a teacher, it provides her the opportunity to be at home a lot including summer and holiday breaks. Lee’s schedule is flexible as well. We both plan on taking maternity/paternity leave once the child is born. If you desire to keep the door of communication open, we would love to share updates with you through letters, emails, pictures, and even visits.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We appreciate your consideration in choosing us as the adoptive parents. Our best wishes and hearts go out to you during this difficult time.

Warmly,

Kari & Lee
