Hello,

Our names are Kristofer and Tracie. We are so thankful that you are taking the time to get to know us. We do not know what it is like to be in your shoes but we appreciate that you are looking into creating an adoption plan. We hope and pray that you will find peace and comfort in whatever decision you make regarding yourselves and your child.

Allow us to take this opportunity to share a little bit of our story. Kristofer grew up in Sweden and moved to Florida in 2006. Tracie spent most of her life in Florida. We met in church and have been together since November 2008. Kristofer proposed in August 2010 and we married in January 2012. We were blessed to celebrate our marriage on two separate days; on January 7 we enjoyed a winter wonderland wedding in Sweden and on January 22 we had a beach ceremony close to our previous home in Florida. This was the best way we could include everyone due to our families being located in different countries.pic 2 for web

Shortly after our marriage we decided to try for a child. After a year of no success and doctor’s visits it was apparent that we were having fertility issues. We still continued to press forward through many of these, but after an invasive medical procedure in July 2014 we were informed our only options for having our own child (short of a miracle from God) would be IVF or adoption. After much prayer and consideration we both felt a calling and longing to pursue adoption.

Adoption has been a big part of our lives. Tracie’s parents fostered and ultimately adopted three younger children when Tracie was in high school. Kristofer’s father adopted him when he was a toddler. We have experienced the joy of bringing new members into our family through adoption (alongside some of the challenges). Therefore we are very excited for the blessing and opportunity of growing our family similar as our parents have.

We feel humbled and blessed for all that God has done in our lives and the many people we are able to enjoy life alongside. Yet there is a piece of us that is missing. We long for and pray often for our future child(ren). We didn’t think we would be adopting this early, but we are thankful and excited that God called us to adopt. We pray for our expectant mother and father – praying for them as they are now making extremely difficult decisions. We continually pray for the protection and health of our child and our expectant mother as she experiences all that pregnancy has to offer.

We are so thankful and honored that we have this opportunity to bring a child into our family and love them with all that we are. We will do everything that we can to protect our child and raise them to love and respect others. We will raise them in our Christian faith, encouraging them to love others as Christ loves us – unconditionally.

We can’t say that everything in our child’s life will be perfect, but we can say that we will do everything in our power to give our child the very best. They will know each and every day of their life just how incredibly loved they are by all of us.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
May God bless you!

Why are you interested in building a family though adoption: Shortly after our marriage we decided to try for a child.

Openness to Birth parents: We would like to develop an honest and true relationship that is beneficial to the birthparent(s), us as adoptive parents and foremost healthy to our child. Because it’s an emotional experience for everyone involved we want an open relationship that is based on clear communication. We are willing to have phone/video calls and occasional visits. We also plan on uploading pictures/videos and status updates to a secure cloud service account that can be accessed by the birth parent(s) at their own discretion.

Childcare Plans: Tracie plans to stay home when our child arrives.
