Dear Birth Parents,

We are Fabian and Robin and we want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to tell you about our family. We are grateful that you love and respect your unborn child so much that you are willing to consider an adoption plan for him or her. We can only imagine the emotions you are going through on this journey and we wish you the best of luck in finding the home you would like for your child.

We do not have any children of our own due to many problems with getting pregnant, but we have been blessed with a wonderful marriage that is full of lots of love and respect for each other, plus a lot of supportive family and friends. We always wanted to have a child and adopt another child, but sometimes God has other plans and we are ready to grow our family through adoption. We can’t wait to share the love in our family with a little one!

We met back in college 13 years ago and our lives were never the same after that, to say the least. Since then, we have had lots of challenges and successes. Today, we can tell you that all these experiences and hard work helped us to build a solid, stable home full of love and that we believe it is only missing one piece, a little one to share all of it with. At the center of our beliefs is God and our values. Hard work, love and faith direct us in every decision and we think that our greatest responsibility is to ensure that these values are passed onto future generations.

A little from Fabian:
I grew up in Colombia, South America, up in the Andes Mountains, in the capital city of Bogota. My father raised me alone after my mother passed away when I was 5. Also, my up-bringing was highly influenced by my grandmother, Betty, whom I love dearly. They both taught me all about hard work and love. I am the oldest of two children. My little sister, Laura, just graduated and has always looked up to my advice in life. She is so bright and all around is a great sister! I came to America 15 years ago on a scholarship and few years later, I ended up marrying the most wonderful woman, Robin. She is my life. What I love most is her wonderful smile and her kind heart. I work for a wonderful company and let me tell you, this is my dream job! I am a large animal nutritionist and animal care consultant.

I grew up in a large family, where laughter and good relationships were important. My earliest memories are around camp fires and pool days at grandpa’s farm. These kind of memories are what I would like to share and create for a little one if given the opportunity. They will be surrounded by lots of pets and farm animals in a wonderful Kentucky home and a world to be discovered.

A little from Robin:
I grew up in Kentucky on a family farm. Like Fabian, I had a large family full of love. We spent a lot of time together celebrating birthdays, playing games and playing with our pets and farm animals. I was very active growing up, always running and participating in school and community events. My life changed the day I met my husband in college. We had an immediate connection and he is the love of my life to this day! Since then, we have built a wonderful life and now have a farm of our own where I care for sheep and horses. Most of my life is caring for people or animals. My job is a chemistry teacher at our local high school. Here I care for more than 200 students a day! I try my best to teach them how our world works and why science is important, but in the end, the most important things I teach them is not in a book. I strive to teach them hard work, dedication and values to live by. Our lives have been blessed and we hope to share these blessings with a child we can watch grow!

Hopefully, we have given you an idea of what our lives look like, please know we are very willing to get to know you and have an open adoption, if that is something you are looking for. We won’t know exactly what that relationship would look like until we meet you, but we believe it is in the best interest of the child to know their full life story. We believe knowledge is empowering in every aspect of life and hope to have an open and honest relationship with our child.

Let us thank you again for taking the time to read this letter and consider us for your adoption plan. We have lots of love to be shared and we dream of the day we get to be parents. A baby that complements our family would be the greatest gift in life and we would always be grateful to you for making this dream come true. We wish you the best of luck on your journey, wherever that leads you!

Interest and Hobbies: We are crazy about the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, camping and long walks in the woods. We also enjoy our farm life where we love to spend time with our horses and sheep. In our down time we enjoy movies, board/trivia/card games, and cooking with family and friends. We love traveling around the world and seeing many places of historical significance. Personal interest for Fabian include working on classic cars and vinegar making and personal interests of Robin include running, reading, gardening and bird watching.

Home: We live in a wonderful log home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths located on 25 acres. Our farms is sectioned into 4 pasture fields for our farm animals, two wooded sections in which we take pride in preserving, two barns, and a large fenced in back yard for dogs and children to have open to play in.

Pets: We are crazy about animals. We have two inside longhair cats named Lex and Blondie who love being lazy around the house and watching the bird feeders from the windows. We have two pet dogs. Bandit is a large mixed breed we rescued 7 years ago and Lad is a collie that we rescued about 2 years ago. They are both full of energy and love the farm life. We also have two outside cats named Boone and Daisy. They were feral cats that were relocated from a local forest. They love living in the barn with the sheep and playing in the hay. Our farm animals start with Cooper and Calandria. Cooper is a beautiful white miniature horse that is simply the sweetest horse you will ever meet. Calandria is a retired jumper/dressage horse that is now simply loving life on the farm. Next on our farm is our 60 Katahdin and Dorper hair sheep. With the sheep lives our last dog, Aziz. Aziz is our Anatolian Shepard and he is a guardian dog who lives with his sheep and keeps watch over them.

Finances: We are very financially stable. It is very important to us that we budget our money wisely and we monthly contribute to many savings, investment and retirement accounts.

Why are you interested in building a family though adoption: We have always wanted to have children in our marriage and when we first go married we had agreed we wanted to have one child by birth and adopt another one. We took our first years of marriage to build our bond and build our lives and careers, then when we decided to grow our family we ran into fertility issues. We tried many years with no luck and decided we should try fertility treatments or adoption. We started with fertility treatments because they are more successful when the parents are younger, however with no successful fertility treatments we had no doubt our next step was adoption. We have a lot of love in our family and want to share it with a child no matter how that child comes into our family.

Openness to Birth parents: We are very open to building a relationship with the birth parent(s). We believe this is the best for all parties involved in an adoption, especially the child. We are willing to discuss arrangements that make everyone comfortable and are very open to sending letters, photos and updates.

Childcare Plans: Both sets of grandparents are retired and are excited about providing child care for a new baby. We plan on also utilizing a wonderful day care (only 2 miles from our home) one or two days a week once the child gets a little older to let them get exposure to kids their own age and make good relationships. Robin is a local high school science teacher which will make it wonderful to be on a child’s schedule once they are of school age.
