We understand the difficult decision parents are faced with when they realize they have embryos they don’t plan to transfer. Snowflakes provides a way for you, parents of frozen embryos, to select a couple who will adopt the embryos. You love and care about your embryos and want the best for them.
Through the Snowflakes® Embryo Adoption Program, you are provided with information about the outcome of your embryos including if they survived the thaw, how many were transferred and if a pregnancy resulted. If you desire, you will learn how the baby or babies are doing, see pictures and receive updates.
Or, if it’s more comfortable for you, you don’t have to be involved: Snowflakes can choose the parents who will adopt the embryos.
Each family is unique and we strive to provide services that will meet your needs.
Embryo adoption is an unprecedented area of the law, and thus, Snowflakes provides the same legal safeguards for embryo donation and adoption that are set forth through traditional adoption.
Please read through our Fact Sheet to learn more. If your questions aren’t answered or you want to discuss your personal situation, we welcome your call.
What does embryo adoption cost the donating family?
All embryo adoption costs are covered by the adoptive family except for the storage of the embryos during the adoption process.

Embryo Storage Options
Nightlight’s partnership with Fairfax Cryobank provides a cost-effective storage solution. If you have frozen embryos remaining from IVF you may need a cost-effective embryo storage location while pursuing a donation.
The adoption process can take time and storage fees can be oppressive. Our partnership with Fairfax Cryobank in Austin, Texas allows you to store your embryos at a lower cost while working through the adoption process. Snowflakes will coordinate the shipment from Fairfax Cryobank to your selected adoptive mother’s clinic.
