Weather

Kazakhstan experiences extreme weather from season to season. A July day in the desert will likely be around 90°F but will plunge to about half that at night. Fortunately the low humidity keeps the daytime highs from being too extreme. In winter the day temperature might get to 16°F before it drops to an icy 5°F at night. Higher altitudes will experience very similar day and night temperatures, though they do see more rainfall, particularly in the east around April and May. Snow starts to fall around November and the mountain passes continue to fill with snow until April or May.
