Dear Birth Mother, We are so overjoyed to be writing this letter to you with the hope that you will consider us to adopt your child. We acknowledge the huge sacrifice that you are making in trusting another couple to raise your child so we want to let you know who we are and what your child’s life will be like with us as his/her adoptive parents. We are Dan and Beth from sunny Southern California. Dan is 5’10”, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Beth is 5’4”, 118 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. We have been married for six and a half years; having married in 2000 at a Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. The day we met was when Beth’s brother, Mark, and Dan were groomsmen in a wedding that Beth attended. Sparks flew instantly as we discovered that we had so much in common and it was love at first sight. We were married within one year of meeting each other. We have been trying to become parents for over four years. First we tried to conceive a child naturally, then with the help of an infertility doctor, but we were not able to achieve a pregnancy. Dan was adopted when he was two days old, so we knew that adoption would be an option for us to grow our family if we could not have biological children. It is so exciting for Dan to look ahead to the bond he will share with our child, as he is an adopted child, too! Having lived in California for our whole lives the beach is a huge part of our lifestyle and where we like to spend our free time. Dan is an avid surfer and you can find him in the water at least three times a week. Beth loves to run and she enjoys doing so with our favorite animal in the world, our four-year-old black lab, Jetty. We live in Laguna Niguel, California, only five minutes from the beach. The neighborhood we live in is amazing. There is an award winning elementary school right next door to us. The end of our street leads to a huge park full of a new playground, volleyball courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and a soccer field. There is a bike trail that starts at the end of our street and leads to the beach. Our neighborhood is full of children of all ages. We can not wait to have a little one to join in on all the fun! Dan is very musically talented, as he plays the guitar and writes songs. Beth is the crafty one in the family with a love for scrapbooking, stamping, woodworking, and knitting. Together we love to hike, camp, and travel. We have been up and down the coast of California, to Mexico, and to Hawaii several times. We are both teachers, which gives us a lot of time to spend together in the afternoons and evenings, on weekends, and all summer. Dan teaches Biology at a high school in Santa Ana and Beth teaches second grade at an elementary school in Las Flores. Beth is blessed to teach only two days a week and stay at home the other five days. Once we become parents, Beth will stay at home to be a full-time mother. As educators, education is important to us and we will instill the importance of education in our child. Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and he has received two Masters Degrees in recent years: a Masters of Education and a Masters of Physical Therapy. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts in History and her teaching credential. We are Christians and we are very involved in our local church. We lead a small group of young married couples on Thursday nights through a Bible Study and small group discussion. In addition, Beth is involved in a weekly women’s Bible Study, Dan is involved in a monthly Leadership Development class, and we are both involved in mentoring other Christians through a one-on-one discipleship program called Partners. Besides our relationship with God, family is the most important thing to us. Dan’s sister and her husband live in the next city over from us and they have two daughters, our three and one year old nieces. Both of our parents live in the next town over as well, less than a mile away from each other. We want to raise our child with close contact with his/her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We also have a close-knit group of friends who all have children between the ages of one week old – four years old. This will be a wonderful environment for our child to be raised in with the love and support of so many family and friends. We are just so blessed to even be considered to adopt your child. Please know that we have been praying for a child for years and truly believe that there is a birth mom out there who will be led to entrust us with the greatest gift we will ever receive. Parenthood is a high calling and we can not wait to let God guide us on this new journey in our lives. We are represented by Nightlight Christian Adoptions. If you want more information about us or would like to meet us, please contact Nightlight at 888.933.2237. God bless you, Dan & Beth

Why are you interested in building your family through adoption? We have been trying to become parents for over four years. First we tried to conceive a child naturally, then with the help of an infertility doctor, but we were not able to achieve a pregnancy. Dan was adopted when he was two days old, so we knew that adoption would be an option for us to grow our family if we could not have biological children. It is so exciting for Dan to look ahead to the bond he will share with our child, as he is an adopted child, too! Openness to birthparent(s): We are open to maintaining contact with the birthparents. We will create an e-mail account for them if they desire direct contact with our family. If not, we are happy to send letters and pictures to Nightlight and have them forward the information to the birthparents. Childcare plans: Beth will be a stay-at-home mom. Statement of Faith: We are both Bible believing Christians who believe that trusting in Jesus Christ and his redemptive work on the cross is our only means of justification before the one Holy God.
