Special Embryos looking for Special Families
Each and every embryo is a precious life, created by God, who deserves his or her chance to live out life to the fullest. Each and every embryo truly means every single one. Some embryos have factors involved in their creation which provide challenges with finding an adoptive family for them. These factors include genetic mothers who were older at the time of egg retrieval, health issues in the genetic parents' family or the embryos' genetic siblings, or a positive infectious disease test result from the genetic parent(s). Although potential risks should be thoroughly discussed with a physician, most of these embryos have the same potential as all embryos for being born happy, healthy babies. While not every family is prepared to adopt these embryos, we know there are special families, perhaps like you, who feel called to give these preborn children their chance at life. We encourage you to fill out a free preliminary application and let us know you are interested in our Special Embryos. If adoption fees are a financial hardship, you may want to consider applying to the Babushka Scholarship Fund. Thank you, and God bless.

Mike & Mary
(Special Case #551) |
| Mike and Mary say that their son is the love of their lives and the most amazing gift from God and now they would like to share this gift with you.
At their son's four month visit to the pediatrician, they asked about the abundance of birth-marks that seemed to be developing rapidly. The pediatrician said that they were café au lait marks and it was certainly a case of Neurofibromatosis (NFI). Per Mary, NFI is a genetic condition and can be carried from parent to child but in their case it was a spontaneous mutation; there was no genetic connection. Their son also has a mild case of Sensory Integration Dysfunction. This was causing a delay in his speech.
Now, a few years later, their son has turned into an amazing child. Mike and Mary say that he is extraordinarily bright and has almost caught up with his peers in speech and development. He is loving, sweet, happy and bright. He is your active typical little boy.
Mike and Mary think that the embryos they created would be an amazing gift to another family. |

Their son has been diagnosed on the spectrum for Autism. His actual diagnosis is PDD-NOS(pervasive development disorder not otherwise specified). Mark & Kathy
(Special Case #805) |
| Mark and Kathy have been happily married for 22 years! They were married in 1988 and welcomed their first son in 1991 and their second son in 2001. Both are happy, healthy, thriving young men. Mark and Kathy still did not feel that their family was complete, but at that point they were not able to conceive naturally, so they turned to infertility treatments for help. In 2009 they got their wish and became pregnant with twins through IVF. The embryos were created using Kathy's eggs and Mark's sperm. They boys are beautiful, happy and healthy! Mark and Kathy are originally from the Ukraine and they are of the Jewish faith. The family attends a local synagogue and they older boys attended Jewish schools. They are also members of the local Jewish Community Center. They are an active family and enjoy spending time together as a family.
Mark and Kathy write, "as a result of fertility treatment we still have two frozen embryos. We are not planning to have any more children. Still, we feel we have a moral obligation to give these embryos a chance of a life with an adoptive family."
Mark and Kathy are open to a Jewish or Christian adoptive family. They would prefer that the couple be college educated and financially secure. They would prefer the couple be under the age of 50 and have a stable marriage.
These embryos are waiting for their special parents who know in their hearts they are meant to adopt them. The parents need to know that Kathy's blood test showed positive for Hepatitis B Core Total AB. For more information about these test results, please consult your doctor. |

Jody & Mark
(Special Case #802) |
| Jody and Mark have been married for eleven years and say they are truly blessed with their two healthy, beautiful daughters. Jody, Mark and their two daughters enjoy spending time together fishing, swimming and traveling. The girls play soccer, basketball and t-ball and take ballet.
Jody and Mark tried for a few years to get pregnant on their own, but soon learned that this was not how they were going to have a family. They used an anonymous sperm donor and were able to have their first daughter using IUI. On the second round of IVF, they became pregnant with their second daughter. Their family is now complete and they hope to help you complete yours.
Jody and Mark are looking for an anonymous adoption. They just want someone to love and treasure the children.
Jody has been diagnosed with 21-hydroxylase deficiency. For more information on this condition, please contact your doctor. Jody states that the embryologist says that the embryos do not carry this condition.

Joseph :: ADOPTED! (Special Case #753)
|
| Joseph and his wife made embryos together using donor eggs. They did not become pregnant and in this process, his wife left him. She wishes to have nothing to do with the remaining embryos. Joseph is now remarried and expecting a child. Due to his strong Catholic beliefs, he wishes to place his remaining embryos for adoption. The egg donor is a carrier of the cystic fibrosis gene; however Joseph is definitely not a carrier, so all the embryos should be free of the disease but may possibly be carriers of the gene. If you have further questions about this, please consult a medical professional. |
