If you have frozen embryos remaining from IVF and you've chosen embryo donation through Snowflakes® as a way give them life, you may need a cost-effective embryo storage location while pursuing the donation. Snowflakes® has partnered with Fairfax Cryobank in Austin, Texas to store your embryos while you select an adoptive family. The adoption process can take time and storage fees can be oppressive. If your storage fees are more than $350 per year, consider storing your embryos with Fairfax while you work through the embryo adoption process.

Cost & process for moving embryos

Cost: $350 includes embryo shipping and one year of frozen embryo storage. Subsequent years are $300 per year.

Timeline: Your embryos can be sent to Fairfax in about two months. You can expedite this if necessary.

Getting started: Complete a Snowflakes® application. Complete your family profile and email it to Kellyp@nightlight.org with the subject “Fairfax Storage [Your Last Name] Profile.” TO EXPEDITE, contact your fertility clinic today and request your infectious disease lab tests and embryology reports be released to Snowflakes®. Snowflakes® Fax: 714-693-5438. Snowflakes® will send a letter of confirmation to Fairfax informing them that you are a Snowflakes® client.

Next steps: Complete Fairfax storage agreement which you will receive via email from Fairfax, and a Fairfax representative will contact your clinic to arrange for shipment of your embryos to their storage facility.

Snowflakes® has worked with Fairfax Cryobank for several years and we trust their service. Your embryos will be safely stored at a lower cost while you select an adoptive family. Snowflakes® will coordinate the shipment from Fairfax Cryobank to your selected adoptive mother’s clinic.
