The books below are those that we recommend to our adoption homestudy clients as part of their adoption education. Some are required reading for our homestudy families, while others are simply recommended. These books are available at most libraries and bookstores, and some are available for check-out through our office.

Provides assistance in finding an attorney in California who can help complete your adoption.

Birthmom Buds
A wonderful online support group for birthparents. Includes a section on adopting parents including suggestions from birthparents in regards to writing a “Dear birthparent” letter, first contact and possible gifts.

The Cade Foundation Provides up to $10,000 to needy infertile families to assist with the costs associated with infertility treatment or domestic adoption.

Child Welfare Information Gateway
A great resource for families in any stage of the adoption process as it provides publications and links on many adoption topics including financial assistance, how to adopt and post adoption services.

Nightlight Christian Adoptions is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) adoption agency, licensed by the states of California and South Carolina to provide adoption services, and is Hague Accredited through COA. Nightlight can perform adoption homestudies for residents of South Carolina and Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura counties).
