Hello,

We are Dave and Catherine. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and learn more about us. We realize this must be a challenging time for you and that there are many decisions facing you right now. Our hope is that we can help you get to know us and see what kind of life and family we would provide for a child.

We have been married for more than five years and have enjoyed a rewarding, blessed, and fun marriage together. From the moment we met, we just clicked. We immediately realized we had a lot in common including our faith in God, the importance of family, and many shared interests.

We love to spend time together, whether it is traveling, hiking, camping or having friends over for a movie night or BBQ. We also enjoy taking advantage of all the D.C. area has to offer including museums, parks and unique events.

Much of our time is spent with our friends and family. We are fortunate to live near Catherine's immediate family including our 2-year old niece and new baby nephew. They make holidays and family events so much fun. We see Dave's family as often as possible, though they live farther away. Everyone is looking forward to inviting a new child to the family - Dave's parents are especially excited as it will be their first grandchild.

Our closest friends are from our church, where we are actively involved. Dave volunteers with the creative arts ministry and Catherine helps with the small groups and with the newcomers' ministry. We both feel that being faithful members in a church is very important to our marriage and especially for our family when we have children.

We have lived in our house for more than four years and have become close friends with many of our neighbors. Our neighborhood is quiet and filled with families with young children. There is a park within walking distance that has playgrounds, a nature center and walking trails.

While we have always known we wanted to have children, after three years of trying many infertility treatments, we realized it would not be possible for us to have children on our own. Even when we were dating, we discussed the possibility of adopting one day. We wholeheartedly believe that God has a plan for us to build our family through adoption and know it is a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of raising children.

Dave is really looking forward to being a father! He is adventurous, loyal, kind and fun to be around. I have seen him with many of our friends' children as well as with our niece and nephew, and know he is going to be a great dad. He is hard working and has his own business, so his schedule is very flexible. I know his number one priority will be to spend as much time as possible with his family.

Everyone who gets to know Catherine is drawn to her wonderful personality. I am blessed to have married such a loving and caring woman, and we have developed an amazing relationship during our five years of marriage. Catherine has been so excited to share our life and our love with a new member of our family, and everyone who meets Catherine knows that she will be a fantastic mother. I look forward to seeing a child experience her warmth and devotion that I have loved so much.

Home: We own a single family home in the suburbs of DC. There are many families with young children in our neighborhood along with easy access to parks, museums, and great schools.

Pets: 1 Dog - Murphy. He is very gentle and good with children.

Finances: We are financially stable and believe in being faithful stewards of what God has provided us.

Why are you interested in building a family though adoption: We feel God has prepared and called us to raise a family. While we have been unable to have biological children, we believe God's will is for us to have our family through adoption.

Openness to Birth parents: We are open to pictures, letters, calls or visits, whatever will make everyone comfortable and confident in the decision.

Childcare Plans: Catherine will stay at home full time with some part time freelancing from home.

Type of child we wish to adopt: 0 to 12 months

Statement of Faith: We believe in God, that he loves people and has provided a way for us to know Him through personal faith in the sacrifice and redemption offered through Jesus.
