Dear Birth Mother,
First of all, we want you to know that we are praying for you and the decision you are making. We have considered adoption for some time now and we feel that our desire to adopt is led by God. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are Bobby, Amy and Landon.
We (Bobby and Amy) began dating about 13 years ago and have been married for the last 10. We have an incredible marriage because we have always been each other's best friend. We are extremely fortunate to have very stable careers that allow us to be very financially stable. Amy is a dental assistant and works 3 days a week, which allows her to spend a lot of time at home. Bobby is a high school teacher, athletic director and a varsity boys' basketball coach, which means he is off over the summer. We love our careers and are truly doing what we've always wanted to do. We live in a beautiful town and neighborhood that is perfectly suited for raising a family. We have an eight-year-old son, Landon, who is also a very big part of this adoption process. He is a friendly, kind hearted and loving child who wants nothing more than to be a big brother.
There are many things that are important to us, but there is nothing more important than having God and family in our lives. We very much enjoy our time at church and feel that God has helped us be the parents that we are today. In fact, one of the best parts of our day is when we pray together at night before Landon goes to sleep.and just so you know.Landon continues to pray for a younger brother or sister every night and we would love for God to answer his prayer. Amy has two brothers and Bobby has four sisters and one brother. We loved growing up with siblings and we want Landon to have some of the same experiences we had as children. We (Bobby and Amy) are still very close with our siblings, which means there are many cousins on each side that would love to have another cousin in the family.
About Amy
I grew up in a family of 3 children. I was very close to my two older brothers and I still have a great relationship with them and their families. I have always loved being around children. In high school and throughout college, I worked in a children's day care. I graduated with a degree in Dental Assisting in 1999 and have been working as a dental assistant ever since. I am very fortunate to be able to work only 3 days a week, which means I get to spend more time at home and a lot of time volunteering at Landon's school. I am a very compassionate and caring mother and there is nothing I love more than my family. God has given me many gifts and blessings, but I truly believe that being a mother is my greatest gift. I love spending time with my family, whether we're baking cookies, walking in a park, going to the zoo or just eating popcorn while watching TV. Because of my flexible work schedule, I am able to be a part of Landon's life at his school, which means a great deal to me. I love to chaperone for field trips, bake cup cakes for his classroom, or just visit for lunch. Sometimes people ask me what my hobbies are, my answer is always the same, there are a lot of things I like to do, but what I love to do is to be with my family.
About Bobby
I grew up in a family of six children (four sisters and one brother). We learned how to share and we learned how to always be there for each other. And while my brother has moved out of state, I am very fortunate to still live very close by to all of my sisters.
Athletics have always been a very important part of my life. I went to college on a basketball scholarship and majored in physical education. I graduated from college in 1999 and have been teaching ever since. I am now an athletic director and a varsity boys' basketball coach. My professional life could not be any better as I am doing what I have always dreamed of doing. I am a teacher and a role model to the youth of our future. I get to make a difference in the life of a child each and every day and I get to use sports to reach them. I still love to participate in athletics myself and I love to have a good time using my corny sense of humor to make people laugh.
About Landon
Landon is a fun loving eight year old who likes to play soccer, basketball and baseball outside and likes to play with his dog Walker inside. He is caring, curious and creative and he loves nothing more than spending time with his Mommy and Daddy. He loves to help Amy baby sit friends' children because he wants so badly to become an older sibling himself. Landon has a very fun loving and silly personality like his daddy. He is a jokester and he loves to laugh. Landon will be an incredible older sibling that will be the lifelong friend and role model that a younger brother or sister needs.
About our Family
We are a family that loves to be with each other. We love to eat together, go to the zoo, go to the movies and camp out......although, most of the time that means sleeping on the living room floor together. Bobby is Landon's recreation soccer and basketball coach. Amy is Landon's biggest fan. One of our favorite things to do as a family is picnic outside, sometimes just in our front yard. We also spend a lot of time together with Amy's brothers' children and Bobby's sisters' children. The one thing we do as a family more than anything else is laugh. We laugh every day. We love life and we love being silly. Sometimes we just dance to crazy music just to laugh. Whatever we do, we do it together because there is nothing more important than our family. And we would love nothing more than to add to our family.
What we want you to know
We want you to know that your child will laugh every day, be tucked in every night, be comforted when he/she is sick, be taught right from wrong, have God in his/her life and most importantly, your child will be loved unconditionally forever.
Thank you for your consideration we will continue to keep you in our prayers and we look forward to hearing from you.
