2009 marks the 50th Anniversary of Nightlight Christian Adoptions. We will be celebrating our golden anniversary on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry. This is a beautiful site on a hill with a lovely view—and centrally located for our families in Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties.

Want to Spend the Night at the Resort?

For those of you traveling some distance or those wanting to make this into a weekend to remember, you may consider staying overnight at the resort. We have received a group rate of $139/night. The resort offers many amenities, including championship golf, swimming pools, a full-service spa, and award winning restaurants. The Legacy of Adoption—a Keepsake Book

To help commemorate this special Anniversary we are compiling a very special book and would like to invite all of our families to contribute to this keepsake of adoption memories. The book, through photos and a few words, will capture the essence of adoption. Two of our client moms, Stacy Richards and Courtney Atnip, will be working on compiling The Legacy of Adoption. We would love to have photos of your child when you first saw them as well as current photos. Family photos and a little description are also welcome. At minimum, we would like “before” and “current” photos, first name of the child or children, and the program they were adopted through.

The contributions to this book should be from families who have adopted through our agency, Nightlight Christian Adoptions (earlier names of the agency: Christian Adoption & Family Services, Family Ministries, or Evangelical Welfare Agency). Please include all of your children (including biological children and children who may have been adopted through another adoption agency) in your family photos.

Fun Facts about the Upcoming Gala

In attendance we will have guests from the original time of our founding, 1959, when the agency was begun in Whittier as the Evangelical Welfare Agency. We will have Board Members, Social Workers, and even some who were adopted as babies and are now adults raising their own children.
