Preston and Carol

Dear Birth Mother:

We are Preston and Carol! Thank you so much for considering us as you choose a home for your baby. We can only imagine that this must be a very difficult time for you and we want you to know that we are praying for you. We understand that birth mothers like yourself are making an extremely important decision and we believe it is admirable of you and quite the sacrifice to consider placing your baby for adoption. Most of all, thank you for choosing life for your child!

We want you to know that we are so excited to become parents and will love this baby for all of our lives. We also want you to know that we plan on raising our child knowing that they have been adopted and want them to know that their birthmother loved them so much that she wanted the very best for them. Longing to provide a home full of love, comfort, laughter, and so much more, we can’t thank you enough for considering us and giving us the privilege of receiving this child!

In Christ,

Preston & Carol

Children: We have not been blessed with biological children of our own but thankfully the Lord has placed in our heart the desire to adopt. We are looking forward to building our family through this process.

Interest and Hobbies: Our time outside of work consists a lot of spending time with our friends and families. All of the prospective grandparents-to-be are extremely excited to have a grand-baby. He/she will be the first grandchild in our family. They, along with several aunts and uncles, cannot wait to love on him/her and quite possibly spoil them. Our close friends are equally excited! We are fortunate to have met several life-long couple friends through our church and small group Bible studies. They are such a huge support to us and are praying as we and you move through this process. We love to get together and eat, play games, laugh, and simply have a good time!
We also love to travel and see places we have never been before. Whether it be a weekend or longer away, it is always refreshing to see something new and explore. We like to ride bikes at the beach, kayak, play tennis, and basically spend quality time together. Preston has several hobbies involving golf, cycling, softball, disc golf, tennis, and pretty much anything else outdoors. We would describe ourselves as a couple who love being active and have fun, yet are laid-back and enjoy quiet nights at home.

Home: We live common lives in a cozy home consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a fenced in back yard One of our three bedrooms is already designated as the nursery and we cannot wait until our baby arrives to use it. Our home is located in a safe neighborhood with very pleasant neighbors who talk and interact with each other as we are out and about.

Pets: We have two cats, who I (Carol) absolutely love and who Preston tolerates (but secretly likes).

Finances: We have been blessed to build up savings and investments through our first 5 years of marriage. We also believe in staying out of debt and have paid off all student loans. We feel as though we are financially secure.

Why are you interested in building a family though adoption: As we approached marriage, we knew we wanted to have children and be parents one day. We had discussed adoption and the possibility that we might want to pursue that option in the future. Having both been oversees on mission trips, we have seen first hand there are children and babies in the U.S. and abroad who need homes. We learned a few years into our marriage we may not be able to have a baby on our own and after a difficult struggle with infertility, we have decided to pursue adoption. We are confident the Lord has a plan for our family, no matter which way He chooses to bring a child to us.

Openness to Birth parents: We desire to have a relationship with the birth family in a manner in which we all agree upon. We desire that this relationship would include pictures and emails. We want the birth family to know first and foremost that this baby is being well taken care of and loved to the best of our ability.

Childcare Plans: Carol plans on taking a leave of absence from work for 10 weeks. When she returns to work she plans to work 2 days per week and child care will be provided by family members and close friends.

Statement of Faith: We believe and have trusted Jesus Christ as our Savior and have a personal relationship with Him and strive to live daily in His grace. We want you to know our desire is to teach our children about the love of God from a young age and pray they will come to know Him personally. We will raise him/her in a Christian home, where our goal is to honor the Lord. We want our children to know they are loved unconditionally by us, but to also know no matter how much we love them, our Heavenly Father loves them even more! We also believe it is important for you to know we do not believe in divorce and we will be a forever home. Our marriage is of utmost importance to us.
